Senior multi-sport athlete Caden Stoops is set to go to IMG academy and taking a post grad year to keep developing as a baseball player. Though it may sound out of the ordinary, many high schoolers take a year to continue developing before they enter college sports.
“IMG academy was the opportunity to grow physically and mentally as an athlete in order to better prepare myself to compete at the collegiate level” Stoops said.
An opportunity such as this presenting itself can be a great opportunity to get a head start. IMG academy offers limitless access to truly unleash your inner potential.
“My parents presented me with the option to take a post-grad year in the first place, and we decided that IMG would be the best option for me [due to it being] designed to cater towards every need an athlete has, whether it is nutrition, weight training, or mental performance” Stoops said.
As it is less popular to take a post grad year, or enter a Junior College, with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) changing their rules, some athletes in the future may take more time deciding whether it is for them or not.
“I would highly recommend attending a postgraduate school to a highschool athlete, especially [since] colleges are looking for athletes in the transfer portal and from Jucos instead of athletes out of high school” Stoops said.
Though Stoops is still in Highschool, he is still such a talented athlete who focuses not only on sports, but academics as well. Stoops has come a long way, and his gratitude towards the people who have helped is through the roof.
“I am very thankful for everyone that has helped me to this point in my athletic career, and I am extremely excited for what is to come” Stoops said.
