Senior Aidan Orth is a jack of all trades when it comes to being a leader. As the school year draws to a close, looking at different ways to be such a successful leader as Orth can be something many should value.
“It feels good. Usually I am pretty busy with my own school work, but I try to manage it the best I can,” Orth said, reflecting on his student governor role. “I have a lot of people in the class that I have to make sure are staying on track with their stuff and I have to try and do my best to lead by example. Also for games, I have to try and show everybody how to support our school. It comes with its perks, but it’s also a hard job sometimes, and it can be stressful, but I really like that. I enjoy it.”
Orth showcases how impressive it is to take on such a role as well as being a student. Remaining humble, in no way does he believe it could be done by himself.
“Being governor is a tough job to manage, so without the help of the executive board, and even the class as a whole, not much could be done. Having these people to rely on is a great thing to have, and they are always ready to help,” Orth said.
Being a leader like Orth is quite the task, but he is never afraid to ask for help when it is needed. One thing Orth will never lack is the immense amount of energy he carries to anything school related.
“My impact has been just bringing energy to anything and everything I do. Also just doing my best to put maximum effort no matter what it is soccer, school, or governor activities. I just try to do my best and remain disciplined and I hope that others see that and try to mirror that same attitude back,” Orth said.
Bringing such energy to school events is a necessity to having a successful student section. Along with that, trying to pass on such an admirable attitude is a beautiful thing to do, especially as a leader who everyone looks up to, because maybe some will do the same in the future. Orth is a person who plans for the future and tries to create leaders by being a perfect example. In order to be the best leader possible, Orth lives by his own means.
“Don’t care what anyone else thinks, be yourself and don’t let anyone else change who you are or how you live,” Orth said.
