On Aug. 29, 2025, pop star Sabrina Carpenter released her seventh studio album “A Man’s Best Friend” via Islands Records. Following her chart-topping albums “Emails I Can’t Send” and “Short and Sweet”, Carpenter’s music allows for a deep and raw meaning behind the songs, but also offers a fun, playful vibe.
Many often criticize her for being “too sexual” or over the top with her stage presence or lyrics, but personally I think that is what makes it her. It also brings attraction to the public with the outgoing lyrics and smart metaphors she uses in her songs.
I love her personality showing through all her different songs and she contributes to all her personality types and stages of emotions through each song. She executes all the stages of being in a relationship: the goodbyes, the anger, the happiness, and the sadness.
Her album “Short and Sweet” had a bit better variety of different types of songs and she was in a relationship with actress Barry Keoghan. Keoghan starred in her music video “Please Please Please”, the song directed at him with lyrics like “I heard that you’re an actor, so act like a stand-up guy Whatever devil’s inside you, don’t let him out tonight I tell them it’s just your culture and everyone rolls their eyes Yeah, I know,” and “If you wanna go and be stupid, don’t do it in front of me If you don’t wanna cry to my music, don’t make me hate you prolifically,”.
Throughout her new album, lots of songs are in response to Keoghan’s actions with lyrics like “My man on his willpower is something I don’t understand / He fell in love with self-restraint and now it’s getting out of hand / He used to be literally obsessed with me,”.
