Dear Occi,
I am an AP Human Geography student struggling with coming up with ideas for how to study for my final AP exam. I am distracted easily and find it difficult to focus on reading my textbook. Do you have any tips on how to study better?
Sincerely,
Durbin’s Favorite Student <3
Dear Durbin’s Favorite Student,
I think it’s great that you are thinking about this ahead of time; it’s so important to not wait until the last minute! With AP history classes, one of the best tools at your disposal is the Youtube channel Heimler’s History. He has concise videos that cover every unit for AP Human Geography as well as tips and tricks for FRQs. If you find it difficult to focus and take notes on these videos, you may want to consider an app like Forest that can keep you off your phone while you are studying. Additionally, many AP students find it helpful to work in a dedicated space, like the local or school library. These spaces provide a calm environment where noises and distractions are minimized, allowing for better concentration.
Hopefully these strategies will help you ace the test in May.
Good luck,
Occi
