From your original chocolate chip to Not Your Mama’s Peanut Butter to even a gluten free option, Jojo’s Cookie Co. offers it all. The business idea started in 2020 when the now owner, Jordyn Wilson, had a surplus of time during quarantine. Her passion for baking was taken to a new level when she set out to create the perfect cookie. Her aim was to create a cookie that was thick and chewy with crisp golden edges on the outside and a slightly underbaked center. She enjoyed dedicating long hours to research and a lot of time testing different batches to create the perfect combinations. Her first creation was her chocolate chip cookie. After developing new flavors and conducting lots of taste tests, Colin Wilson, her husband, quickly came to believe that this could become more than just a newfound hobby. Not long after their wedding, C. Wilson talked J. Wilson into taking a leap into business ownership and together they started up Jojo’s Cookie Co. Their first storefront location opened up in Petoskey, MI, and later on Aug. 12, 2023, they opened a new location in downtown Traverse City, MI.

The cookies themselves are phenomenal and good in size. They have a wide variety of flavors to choose from, almost like Crumbl cookies, but locally owned. The cookies were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and the flavors were amazing. They are constantly making new cookies, so each batch is fresh. A bit on the pricey side, but for a small business, it is a fair price. I do like that they have a gluten free option, but, unfortunately, was only in the chocolate chip. The customer service is amazing. The staff is very welcoming, patient and helpful when it comes to asking for recommendations on flavors. Overall, if you are looking for a sweet treat, I would recommend stopping by and if you are on the busy side, they offer pick up and nationwide shipping.
